WareAbility
For most people wear-ability is the cornerstone of jewelry. I've never been a practical maker, for better or worse, whether making a ceramic teapot or a piece of jewelry, scale and function usually weren't the priority. Until, one day in graduate school it became a concern. Maybe it was the new computer-generated making environment, maybe I was coming to my senses...who knows? Nonetheless, it became something to explore and remains an interesting challenge to explore in my current practice.
WareAbilties challenge traditional jewelry trends and embrace current Studio Jewelry Zeitgeist. The work addresses wear-abilty through design, mechanism and cultural trends.
